Is NPSP going away?

Not on any announced date. Salesforce says NPSP 'will continue to be supported', and no end-of-life or end-of-sale date has been announced.92

What changed is new development and new orgs: Salesforce launched the new Nonprofit Cloud on March 14, 2023 as the home for new work, and since December 2025 NPSP is no longer offered preconfigured in new Power of Us production orgs.101

What's actually different in Nonprofit Cloud?

People are stored as Person Accounts instead of Contacts in Household Accounts, and donations move from Opportunities to gift objects (Gift Transactions and Gift Commitments).11

Because the data model is different, there's no in-place upgrade: moving usually means a new org, with data, reports, automation and integrations rebuilt or re-mapped.1112

Do I have to migrate from NPSP?

No. There's no requirement to migrate today, and existing NPSP orgs keep their licenses and support.23

Reasons people move anyway: they want features Salesforce now builds only for Agentforce Nonprofit, or they're rebuilding a messy org regardless. Reasons to wait: a working org, no admin capacity, and no budget for a re-implementation.2

How much does moving to Agentforce Nonprofit cost?

Licenses: eligible nonprofits get 10 Nonprofit Cloud Core licenses at no cost through Power of Us. Paid editions list at $70 (Sales & Service Core), $125 (Advanced) and $285 (Sales Max or Service Max) per user per month, billed annually, with an annual contract.7

Implementation is the bigger number, and it's quoted by partners. One partner, Ynexgen, says NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud migrations 'typically run $15,000–$60,000', nearer $8,000 for small clean orgs and $100,000+ for large complex ones. That's a partner's claim, not a measured average.13

How long does an NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud migration take?

Salesforce doesn't publish a timeline. Partner Hikko says a tidy org with few reports and integrations 'can move in weeks', while an org with years of undocumented automation, custom code and duplicates should plan for several months.12

Should we leave Salesforce instead?

If a re-implementation is coming anyway, it's worth pricing a dedicated donor CRM too. Bloomerang, Little Green Light and DonorPerfect all market to Salesforce switchers or offer conversion help.141516
